LYNKAGE: Welcome Timberlee could you tell us a little about yourself?
TIMBERLEE: I was born and grown in Mandeville I went to Belair high school and then I went away so I had tertiary education from overseas.
LYNKAGE: What degree was that?
TIMBERLEE: Psychology and child education, which is not doing anything for me right now.
LYNKAGE: Tell me a little more about your musical career so far?
TIMBERLEE: Working, working, working, I have some new singles coming out. I just did the video for “I’m so sexy in my heels”, so you guys can look out for that soon. I’m working on promotion for that also, it’s been nice for me as I’ve been told that a lot of people struggle to get to where I am right now, so I feel blessed and I’m trying to maintain the pace.
LYNKAGE: So how many years have you been in the entertainment industry?
TIMBERLEE: I’ve been in the industry since 2003, but I’m in it seriously since “Bubble like soup” drop, I never use to take it seriously before that.
LYNKAGE: What was the success like for bubble like soup?
TIMBERLEE: The success was great, big up to Ward 21 “A mi fadda dem dat” they were behind the success of that and that is what really put me on the map. I didn’t expect it to blow up like it did so I’m very grateful.
LYNKAGE: Where are some of the places that “Bubble like soup” took you?
TIMBERLEE: Everywhere that I have been. England, US, the Caribbean all over the place
LYNKAGE: What are some of the challenges you have faced as an upcoming female artiste?
TIMBERLEE: The real challenge is to just maintain the standards that I have started with.
LYNKAGE: What is your motivation to press on in this business?
TIMBERLEE: My motivation is the doubt that my mom has in the success of my dancehall career, she supports me,like she will be there for me if I were to fall but she does not believe that there is a career in dancehall music, she’ll be like; “when are you going to stop this and do something real?” but my parents spoil me so I get to do what I want. Other than that it is just something I love to do.
LYNKAGE: What is your most memorable moment?
TIMBERLEE: When I went to England last year April to do a show, I had no idea that my song was so popular over there, as soon as stared t performing, the song the crowd went wild people were -

literally on top of their heads balancing and they knew every word of the song.
LYNKAGE: Is there any one in particular in the industry that you admire, like a role model?
TIMBERLEE: what happens is that when you become an artiste, other artistes become regular people to you and you find out things about them that you don’t need to know and that changes your view of them. I don’t have any role models in the industry, but there are artistes who I admire for certain things, for example I admire Ward 21 for identifying the talent in me, and I also admire their longevity and their strength. When it comes to striving and not giving up I definitely look up to them for that and lyrically and as producers they are very talented.
I love Vybz Kartel, I love his lyrical content even though sometimes he takes it a bit too far, but his delivery and just the way he come up with some stuff it is just phenomenal.
Bounty Killer and Beenie Man very talented, Lady Saw as well. These are artistes that will never flop in the industry.
LYNKAGE: What does Timberlee do in her free time?
TIMBERLEE: Timberlee sleeps n her free time, sleep, watch TV and invite over a few friends, cook or microwave some food.
LYNKAGE: What do you cook?
TIMBERLEE: Everything.
LYNKAGE: Who is more likely to call you at 3:00 in the morning?
TIMBERLEE: Tifa or my friend name Shawn. Every time him going through something him have to call me and share it with me
LYNKAGE: Who is more likely to call you from the police station?
TIMBERLEE: I have a friend name Kerry she was living in Mobay, and the place that she rented she was sharing with another lady, so I got a phone call and she was on the phone like: “ Yow mi deh a di police station enuh” so mi say weh yuh a duh a police station? Hear har “Timberlee as mi come a mi yard mi si di woman a look ina mi pot” and she say she carry herself guh dung a di police station and tell dem say fi lock her up before she duh di lady something.
