LYNKAGE: Name some of the places that you guys have traveled?

The Bloods: Canada, California; people love us in California we literally sold five thousands CDs there in the space of a month, and we’re talking CDs that we write on with a marker, nothing professional.

LYNKAGE: Explain how some artistes are bigger overseas and not acceptable in Jamaica.

The Bloods: Well every music has a different market, in the European market they prefer techno and hardcore dancehall, the eastside of America also like the hardcore dancehall then there is the west side that prefers the one drop. Jamaica is mostly into dancehall so you will find that it is the same thing in England and in New York and reggae artiste is preferred in Germany and California.
People might not say they are hot right now but its just different places for different music. Burning Spear, Bunny Wailer and Toots still have a large fan base overseas even though they may not be so hot out here.

LYNKAGE: What do you like most about performing?

The Bloods: The love from  the fans?

LYNKAGE: Where do you guys do your recording?

The Bloods: We do recording at our own studio which is JR studio and we also work with a lot of different producers.

LYNKAGE: So is there any other artistes out there that you guys may want to do a collaboration with?

The Bloods: Yea a lot of them still it depends on the right time and right place we are not really pin pointing anyone in particular still.

LYNKAGE: What does your mother  think about you guys doing music?

The Bloods: Well she support us a hundred percent. She says well if is that you want to do then go ahead and deal with it so we have her support to the fullest. If a parent doesn’t support their child in anything that they are doing it might break them so parents out there if your child says he or she wants to do something and it is not anything wrong you should support them.

LYNKAGE: Do you guys write all your music?

The Bloods: Yeah man everything.

LYNKAGE: Where is Andrews favorite place in Jamaica and why?

The Bloods: (Andrew) Bobo Hill because it is just away from the city and up in the hills.

LYNKAGE: What about you Wada?

The Bloods: (Wada) I wouldn’t say I have a favorite place still.

LYNKAGE: So when you need some me time where do you go?

The Bloods: (Wada) Leave Jamaica (laugh) well seriously I can just stay anywhere and have a peace of mind as long as I’m by myself just turn off the phones, no one to bother me just gwaan bill and hold a meditation and free up my mind.

LYNKAGE: What are three things Wada cannot live without?

The Bloods: (Wada) Weed, my girl, and music. (Andrew) Weed, Music, Money.

LYNKAGE: What would you blow a million dollars on in a day?

The Bloods: (Andrew)  Maybe buy a bus and give some youths so they can make some money for themselves.

LYNKAGE: What is the one thing that makes your day?

The Bloods: (Wada) When one of my fans show me crazy love in the streets.

LYNKAGE: If not music what would you be doing?

The Bloods: (Wada) if not music maybe something in the field of business like business management because that is something that I really like.
(Andrew) If not music maybe something else in the music because I’m very technical, I do producing, I’m an engineer also, we direct our own music videos and edit it as well, we mix our songs, we write our own songs, the only thing is that we can’t hold the camera and video ourselves (laugh) but sometimes when you want to get things done at a certain speed you have to just do it yourself because when you depend on people, after a while they start dragging their feet.
Wada: That’s why we teach the youths them to hustle till the day that you die ot hustler for life because we don’t wait on people, we have to do it ourselves and every youth need to learn to be self reliant to get up and go out there and help yourself, and while you are helping yourself someone might see you and give you a helping hand, don’t sit and wait for no one to help you. If we sat down and  depended on people we wouldn’t be where we are today, we do our thing, promote it and campaign it and at the end of the day we can sit down, have a drink and say we did it.

LYNKAGE: What’s the most important thing you’ve leant so far in the business?

The Bloods: (Wada) Don’t trust anybody in music, and don’t trust any producer because this business is a cut throat business. A person will be your friend today and you get a  number one hit tomorrow and your friend turn your enemy. Just know that at the end of the day everybody is competing with you.

LYNKAGE: Did you guys face any challenges getting into the business?

The Bloods: Yes   a lot but we just overcome each one of them and that just makes us stronger and better.

LYNKAGE: Where do you see yourselves in the next five years?

The Bloods: Just touring because the fan base is going to be so big.

LYNKAGE: What advice would you give to any youngster coming into the business?

The Bloods: (Wada) Well I’d advise them to take time and learn about the music and don’t give up. If you are good at it and you know you are good at it just keep pushing and keep working and one day you’ll get that hit.

(Andrew) Stay true and give it a hundred percent and believe in yourself and put the most high first because the most high do everything and make everything possible.
